NEXT STEPS

EVERYONE HAS A NEXT STEP.

Perhaps yours at this point is to commit your life to Christ. Christian Tabernacle is a place for you to learn and grow into the disciple God wants you to be. You can find a complete list of Christian Tabernacle's auxiliaries under the About Us drop-down tab. Finally, if you need direction, counseling, or prayer from one of our ministry teams, please click here.

We pray that your next steps are God-ordained and directed. Psalm 37:23

Colossians 2:6-7 says “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness”

So your next steps should be to actively attend weekly Worship Services and Bible Studies so that your faith would be strengthened.  Life can be difficult. But solidifying your walk with Christ through this ministry will make your difficulties bearable.  Further, Christian Tabernacle is committed to equipping you with the tools and mindset needed to trek through your life’s journey.  This is accomplished mostly through the We Are One ministry where you get the attention that a small group of committed Christians may be able to offer you. We also encourage you to pray each day for God’s direction and commit to a dedicated regiment of Bible reading and study.

Starting Point

Follow Jesus

Ephesians 6:12 states: “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Galatians 5:16 states: “Walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.”

It is critical that your eyes remain on the spirit of Jesus Christ and the Holy Word of God.  There are times we may become disillusioned with the cares of this world and get disappointed, even by people who would profess otherwise.  However, if you commit your life to inculcating the Word of God as you navigate through the world’s nuances, you are far more likely to be successful in your endeavors.  We know that there is a real enemy that seeks to kill, steal, and destroy our God-ordained life’s ambitions. But we believe as you commit to following the Lord and His precepts as found in the Bible, you will come out victorious with each quest and battle.

Message from our

Grow in Faith

Jesus said, “Have faith in God. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Mark 11:22

The job of the Holy Spirit is to bring us closer to God through what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.  Jesus paid for all our sins.  The important point to note is that sin separates us from God. However, we have an advocate in Jesus in that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9  Sanctification is not necessarily an end state, it is a process where you grow closer to God, even in the midst of your struggles and conflict.  The testing of your faith produces perseverance, character, and other redemptive qualities that are godly. James 1:2-4, Romans 5: 3-5

Get Baptized

Act 2: 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

One of the main ordinances in the Baptist church is that new Christians are baptized through immersion shortly after joining a local ministry.  This is an outward sign of what one has committed to inwardly or spiritually.  Baptism alone does not save you.  Salvation is given based on the profession of your faith in Jesus Christ.  Nevertheless, we believe it is important to let the world know of your decision to follow Jesus.  We further encourage new believers to become baptized in the Spirit, where all of your spiritual gifts are activated by the unction of the Holy Spirit.  Matthew 3:11, 1 John 2:20

Next Steps:

1. Hearing the Gospel

Scripture:  Romans 10:17 - "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ."

The journey begins with individuals hearing the message of the Gospel. The church actively shares the Word of God through preaching, teaching, and outreach programs, emphasizing the importance of spreading the truth of Jesus Christ.

2. Believing in Jesus Christ

Scripture: John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

Upon hearing the Gospel, individuals are called to believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. The church fosters an environment of faith and conviction, encouraging personal relationships with Jesus through prayer and the study of God’s Word.

3. Repenting of Sin

Scripture: Acts 2:38
"And Peter said to them, 'Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins...' "
True belief is accompanied by repentance, a turning away from sin. The church emphasizes the need for confession and repentance in its teachings, promoting spiritual growth and accountability among members. Accepting Jesus as Lord and being Saved?

Scripture: Romans 10:9-10
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation.

4. Joining the Church

Scripture: Acts 2:41-42 - "So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls. And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship..."

New believers are encouraged to formally join the church, becoming active members of the body of Christ. The church provides opportunities for fellowship, teaching, and service, helping members grow in their faith and community through our We Are One ministry.

5. Baptism

Scripture: Matthew 28:19-20 - "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and the Holy Spirit..."

Baptism is a public declaration of faith and obedience to Jesus’ command. The church practices baptism as an important rite of initiation, welcoming new believers into the community of faith.

6. Discipleship and Growth

Scripture: 2 Peter 3:18 - "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
The church emphasizes ongoing discipleship, encouraging members to grow spiritually through Bible studies, prayer groups, and mentorship. Members are taught to live out their faith actively and share it with others.

7. Serving and Sharing the Gospel

Scripture: Matthew 5:16 - "In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

An essential part of being a disciple is serving others and sharing the Gospel. The church mobilizes its members to participate in outreach, missions, and acts of service, embodying the love of Christ in the community through our Faith in Action Ministry
